About Us

The Manipal Journal is a student-run independent news-organisation operating out of the university town of Manipal, Karnataka.

We began in 2007, when six students of Journalism decided to explore the storytelling opportunities that the free internet provided. The Manipal Journal is run by an army of volunteer photographers, reporters, editors, cartoonists, designers and videographers, working not-for-profit.

Experimenting with and exercising a curiosity we know to be in our essence, The Manipal Journal strives to capture Manipal, and the world, as it happens.
