Police form a checkpoint at Syndicate Circle stopping and imposing a fine on commuters travelling on two-wheelers without a helmet. According to the new rules introduced in the district, helmets are compulsory for everyone travelling on two-wheelers, including the pillion rider. A fine of Rs. 100 will be levied on the rider if he is not wearing a helmet.
