MANIPAL: Tennis players studying at Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) showed their skills and talents during the Inter-MAHE Tennis Tournament held on February 28 and 29 at the Recreation Centre in the Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) Campus.
Ten colleges under MAHE took part in this annual tournament, which was divided amongst the men’s and women’s categories. The match format was a best of three sets consisting of two singles games and a doubles game.
In the women’s category, Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal finished winners, followed by MIT-A. The finals of this category took place on the first day of the tournament and saw some very hard-fought and competitive contests. The men’s category finals were held on the second day.
MIT-A and MIT-B made it to the finals of the men’s category. Immense competition between college counterparts resulted in an immensely competitive finals encounter.
In an extremely challenging three games, the display of emotions was very evident on both sides of the court. In the first singles set, both players were extremely focused and every rally was intense.
MIT-A won both singles games on the trot, clinching the tournament in style. MIT-B, however, managed to grab the doubles game, and with it, some consolation.
