Manipal: The students of Manipal College of Allied Health Sciences (MCOAHS) celebrated Onam on 28 and 29 August. As per the typical Kerala tradition, the students enthusiastically participated in several games and activities to mark the celebration. The last day of Onam, known as Thiruvonam had a ‘Mr and Miss Kayal Competition’. Living up to the tradition in Manipal, such competition is one of Kerala’s favourite activities during Onam. It also involved games like sack race and tug of war in their ethnic attires. The Kerala dance called Thiruvathira performed by the women was the highlight of the event.
